About Rae Scott

Rae Scott is an award-winning author/poet and book enthusiast from Baltimore, MD. Her literary journey began in January 2021 after creating a bookstagram account dedicated to promoting and celebrating black literature and sharing her love for books. After two traumatic childbirth experiences, and an intense struggle with postpartum depression, Rae channeled her energy into writing poetry which eventually evolved into her International  Book Award and Best Book Award-Winning Finalist, Through Blood and Becoming (2022).

In 2023, she was voted Content Creator of the Year in the All Ways Black (@allwaysblack) awards curated by Penguin Random HouseRae works with several initiatives to benefit and support the black literary community. She partners with the women's empowerment community SoLoveSoul (@solovesoul) as a book club coordinator, is a contributing writer for the AAMBC Award Winning Book Club Blog, The Sistah Girls Book Club (@sistahgirlsbookclub), and works as a freelance Social Media Manager for small businesses/ organizations including the black woman owned publishing company Mahogany Pen Publishing (@mahoganypen.publishing), and the Black Cannabis Week (@blackcannabisweek) annual conference curated by The Diasporic Alliance for Cannabis Opportunities (DACO).
